Google Adwords Call Tracking is Here!

This week Google announced call metrics for Google Adwords, a call tracking system powered by Google Voice.
Google assign your campaign a automatically generated unique clickable number and insert it into your ad displayed on high end mobile and desk top devices.
How does it work?
When a user does a search in Google your paid ad will be displayed as normal but will include a dynamically generated unique phone number. When the user calls the phone number in your ad the call is routed to your business line and the action is recorded in your adwords account.
What reporting is available?
The number of calls and the duration by each ad campaign.
What is the relevance for our clients?
This is good news because we can provide much more insightful reporting to out customers. Google Adwords has now covered a main base as call tracking was one previous weakness when determining ROI as these actions could not be reported on.
This is all due to be rolled out over the next few months and will be relatively easy to roll out based on how deeply you choose to integrate it.
